- Another unparalleled experience is visiting the WWII air-raid bunkers
- Central berlin keeps one entertained for weeks but need to go back to visit nearby places like Potsdam
- Netherlands: Short trip with Martina in March
- Amsterdam: Marine history, city stuff, always visit during weekdays to avoid the crowds
- Overveen: A chill Dutch village with a nice national park nestled along the north sea coast
- Keukenhof: Another nearby village with the famous Tulip gardens and fields
- Croatia: Mid-semester trip with Vips
- Zagreb: Croatia’s capital, I’ve heard the outskirts are delightful but I mostly spent time in the city center
- Zadar: Amazing art scenes, important archaeological sites, beautiful sunsets along Adriatic sea
- Plitvice: Absolutely otherworldly nature with intricate systems of lakes and waterfalls
- Portugal: Another talk at a Quantum Field Theory conference
- Lisbon: Great food, lively old town, music performances, okay-ish museums
- Sintra: Small town near lisbon, beautiful and eclectic estates with the best landscaped gardens (makes every other garden look tacky in comparison)
- Algarve coast: My favorite nature experience till date. beautiful sea caves, dramatic limestone cliffs set against deep blue Atlantic
- Ladakh: Short trip with parents while I was in India
- Leh: Not much to do in the city proper other than monasteries and an old palace
- Diskit, Hunder & Pangong: Dramatic mountain valleys, sandy dunes and bluest lakes in India
- Austria: Visiting Tatsam with Vips
- Vienna: Great museums, ornate palaces interiors and an v cool old town vibe
- Rax: Chill hike at the foot of the Austrian alps close to Vienna
- Malta: Winter break trip to a tiny but v important island in Mediterranean
- Mdina and Valetta: neolithic sites, war history, unique cultural blend in architectural aesthetics
- Comino channel: Some cliffs and sea caves, somewhat rough sea, v blue lagoons
- Victoria: another fortified city with cool mediterranean/arabic/medieval vibes
- Hamburg: Day trip before Christmas
- Very cool museum ships (and submarines) in the region and a huge maritime museum
- Super-unique industrial red brick wall architecture in warehouses
