Confirmation bias
The tendency to search for, interpret, focus on and remember information in a way that confirms one’s preconceptions.
Confirmation bias can be triggered based on how a question is framed, because the brain tends to perform a “positive test strategy” when searching memories. For example, “Is Sam friendly?” will cause a different search than “Is Sam unfriendly?”.
